PAPER 99

1.A person is cutting the boundary of pages he accidentally cuts the binding of book
and all the pages spreads on the floor he start collecting them and while doing this he notices that digit 3 comes 61 times in all page no's. What are the no of pages in the book?

2.a person chooses a number between 1-1000 what is the probability that another person chooses a no higher than the first person?

3 two trains start from station A and B and take 5 hrs to reach the other station how many trains will cross.

4 A couple decided to go north country side they traveled min distance on the first day and then 20 km more on each day .they traveled 9 days for 1080km.
a) how much they traveled on 4th day
b) on the last day

5) There is a area of 100 sq foot and a farmer wants to plant trees on the field such that each plant has a distance of 10 feet b/w them how many maximum no of plants that can be planted on the field u can plant on boundaries

6)A and B together take some collar and cuffs to the laundry total 30 in number .A takes out half the cuffs and one third of collars and pays 27 cents for the bill how many cents B has to pay for the remaining if 5 cuffs cost the same as 4 collars .

7)on a hill station a watch due to cold slows 1/3 minute in the night and gains 1/2 min in the day so it total gains 1/6 minute if on 1st may it is showing correct time than on which day it will be 5 minuets fatser.

8)Prof. Weird uses a formula X= 30+4R-W where X is the total score R is the no of right answer and w is the no of wrong answer for calculating score in a multiple choice question paper having 80 question .students are not penalized for leaving the question unanswered A student tells Prof weird that his score is above 80 and Prof is able to determine the no of question the student has done correctly if the student has told that his score is somewhat lower but still above 80 he would not be able to determine the no of correct answer.

9)three person JOHN ,HOWARD & ANDREW each has taken three subjects among physics ,chemistry,maths, biology, each one of them makes 4 statement about the subjects they have taken in which 2 are correct and 2 are wrong (all in all 8 wrong 8 correct) -I can not remember all the statement but some of them was like we all have taken at least one common ,one of us has not take biology etc etc find who has taken which subject

10)there are 2 window pan left pan and right pan having three cells each and we have 7 diamonds(a,b,c,d,e,f,g) we have to arrange 3 in left pan and three in right pan and some conditions are there like a has to be place in the left pan g must be in the right d and e has to be placed together d and f can not be placed together
based on these condition 4 questions were there each of 2 marks this question was easy one.

11)a person buys two piece X and Y ,Together they cost less than 10$ .X has as many pieces as Y costing in cents and vice versa find the cost of each
