WIPRO PATTERN & INTERVIEW - 23 JUL 2006
1. Written Test
2. Technical Interview
3. HR Interview
SECTIONAL CUTOFF IS THERE.
Written Test: consists of 3 sections :
1.1. General English
1.2. Aptitude
1.3. Technical Questions
English was very easy. All sentence completions, active voice to passive voice, comprehensions like that. Anyone with good English can easily cross this section. Refer to Barrens for sentence completions and comprehensions.
Aptitude was too very easy. It just consists of questions like reasoning, basic physics, pendulums, ratio-proportions, percentages, profit-loss...refer to RS. Agarwal. Remember, I just mentioned the name of RS. Agarwal because we will get habituated to solve problems. But none of the problems asked are from RS. Agarwal.Technical questions will be easy for a student with computer science background. Non-CS please dont worry, you will have a lower cut-off in this section when compared to a CS student. Questions from DBMS, OS, C, Java, Unix, Computer Networks, General keyboard shortcuts will be asked.
Technical Interview:
I am student from Computer Science, so I felt it easy. Questions asked were :
1. What do you do in leisure?
2. Why Wipro?
3. What is DBMS...and some queries on DBMS (select, update)....
4. What is JDBC....and one program on JDBC
5. Advantages of Java over C...
6. What are signals in Unix?
7. What are TSRs in C?
8. And some questions about my activities in various college events and student clubs.
I didn't miss even one question too... I feel, if one can communicate well, and perform well in technical interview he is through. My technical interview was so cool and the HR was too very impressed.
HR Interview :
Here comes the dangerous round. It was just around 1 min my HR interview was finished. I was asked these questions only...
1. Why should I hire you?
I answered like this "Let me coordinate my aims with Wipro's vision and said about Wipro... and at last I said I have ability to learn and do hard work, so I feel it is enough for me to get into Wipro"
2. What are your strengths?
I said, I can tune myself into any new environment so easily. I have good learning skills and I can perfectly fit into a team. I gave analogies for each of my strength.
3. What is Six-Sigma?
This is a quality standard. Wipro is the first company to use it. It means, if 1 million products or services are manufactured they will be only 3.2 erroneous products or services. I came to knew it from Pre-placement talk.

WIPRO PATTERN - 01 JUL 2006 - VIJAYAWADA
WIPRO PATTERN - 01 JUL 2006 - VIJAYAWADA
This July 1 we had Wipro interview in which 2 other colleges along with us participated. The strength might be around 750 attended. The colleges attended were KLCE, RVRJC, BEC. In this 87 from KLCE, 72 from RVRJC, 52 from BEC got through written test. After that there was technical interview on which the whole emphasis was.
The scrutiny mostly took place in the technical interview. The chaps who ever got through technical interview, got through HR. HR interview went on as a formality. Finally 39 from KLCE, 22 from RVRJC, 13 from BEC got selected for WIPRO. So as a whole out of 600 r above they selected 74.
Coming to the Written test as usual it had.
Verbal-15
Analytical-15
Technical-20.
1 hour for written test. No negative marking.
In Verbal section there were questions on Active Voice and PASSIVE voice. Giving active voice and asking us to choose the Passive voice.....like that. 1 RC-on that 4 questions. 1 synonym 1 jumbled word-shud choose a word which gives meaning.
Coming to the Analytical section. It was very easy. simple questions like Divide 30 by half and add 10. Blood relation questions boat&stream 2 questions were logical........and interesting.
The question was 1 11 21 1211 111221 312211 13112221 1113213211 31131211131221 What is the number in the next series.....? The logic was so simple 1 Next row is 11(means one 1) then next row 21(means two 1's) then next row1211(means one 2,one 1) like that u can go on filling....
Then the Technical questions There were questions on LINUX, UNIX, Networking, C, C. But all were very easy and basic questions asking the output of the program, asking the error in the program........like that
Question on networking was Which is Routable? LAN, WAN, IPEx.... something they gave.
AS a whole the written test was very easy (NO negative marking. But there was SECTION CUT OFF. And another thing to talk about is, it is said that 13-15 questions were directly from previous papers. (I donno know it bcoz i didn'look the previous papers, but the guys prepared on previous papers said to me) So Good luck. Written test is very easy. But technical interview is where u have to prove u'r self. So with a quiet good preparation for Written, and a SERIOUS preparation for the TECHNICAL will grab u a job in WIPRO.

Question Paper Pattern is as follows,
1) Verbal (15 Questions) (Normal active, passive voice, add punctuation mark, complete the passage with appropriate words sort of questions)
2) Quantitative (15 Questions) (Only clear the basics of math’s like sums on ages, percentage, logical reasoning, mental ability sort of questions)
3) Technical (20 Questions) (don’t get baffled just try out ur knowledge and ur 3yrs of engg experience for technical section)
Every section has a cut of, try to attempt as many questions as u can; i attempted 12-15 questions from each section correctly. Every section has a cut off, be careful!
Technical round:
He asked me questions related to projects which I did throughout engg course (as we have mini projects in our 6th semester), also he asked me two logical questions like there are 2 tanks frm which 1 is fully filled with water and the other is empty and it had no markings for measurements and given are mugs with 3 and 5 liters marking. We have to fill the empty tank with 4litres of water.
Soln: First fill 5l+5l of water in the empty tank and then remove 3l+3l of water frm it left= 4litres.
And some vending machine question. Also he asked me questions on pointers, arrays, masking.
Prepare for the basic concepts of c,c++,rdbms, unix, sql etc that will be enough.
Hr Round:
It was just a formality; he asked me only 3 questions

WIPRO PAPER ON 4th AUGUST 2006 AT IT-BHU, VARANASAI
The written test was simple.. u hav 3 sections of 50 questions tat needs 2 be answered in 60 mins… remem u hav cut-off for each quest the sections are::
15- Verbal
15- Analytical
20- Technical
For the verbal round, don't ask to me because I really have not prepared much for it and I just passed it.
The analytical was really simple… time n distance tey also ask u ques on sentence decoding n coding n sitting arrangements(A is to the immediate rght of B, who is between G and F)… study even average, time n distance…
Technical .. probably tats y I didn’t face much problem.. tey ask ques on os, data structure, c, c++, unix and networkin… But do't worry because the cut off marks for technical is not very high, Even I did only 10 of them. for technical information, look up to freshers world… go to technical resources in the site… its very useful…
Around 125 from my coll were short listed for the interview ,.. the tech interview was held for 20 mins.. and just after technical interview you r informed that whether you r selected for next HR interview round or not..... If you r selected for interview round than your HR interview will also held just after it without time gap.....
Even in my technical round my first quens. was tell me abt urself. .. I answered it all.. then he asked me y Then he come on technical quetions.... I am in eletrical engg. so he asked about power system I think he was not having much knowlege in power system so my fatte was good enough for him...... I had told him abt my summer training experience at NTPC delhi. He asked abt wind power generation and I confidently I said don't know sir ........ then he asked abt any project that I have done... I told yes sir and it was sth abt software so he asked in detail abt it and I answered he also gave me one paper for writting a simple C program....
Now in HR interview the first question was again tell me abt your self.(perticularly family background)... then tell me the meaning of you name... tell me why would u like to change your field ....... I answered that sir this IT sector has very fast growth than my electrical core...... and some more fatte........ then he said what the thing most you like in our PPT ..... I answered that sir I always eager to learn and your company provide overnight study facility that will promot me to grow myself faster....... then he said would you like ask any questions from me I asked abt six sigma concept he answered me and said again any more question I asked one more abt electrical work in your company like making software for automatiom of electrical plants etc... He answered and said again any more question I said confidently no....
Hr was cool… just be confident… the hr will tend to ask u ques very rapid, try to reply promptly(like a rapid fire around).. tey r testing ur reflexes….. be bold to ans all ques… tey also chk ur stress level.. and very imp hav instances to substantiate ur strengths..

WIPRO PAPER - 25 MAR 2006 - WARANGAL
I'm elated to say that I've been selected...
I'd like to share my experiences so that it would be of some use to you..
The Written test consisted of three sections
1) Verbal - 15 q's-Very easy, No need to go thru Barrons.
2) Analytical -15 q's- Easy too..Basics are enough.
3) Technical- 20 q's- on UNIX,CPP,OS,C,DBMS...
This was a bit tough for me as i was from EEE.
Remember, there is an individual cut-off in each section.
I made through the written and my Tech interview was at 7:00 pm..
The interviewer asked me questions on HTML,LINUX, Javascript, diff b/w windows and LINUX
etc,, as I have placed them in my resume...For non-IT students a knowledge of ur subjects and C&DS is
enough....No need to worry...It's cool...I mentioned cricket as my hobby....He asked me solve an arithmetic
to find avg of scores of a batsman...I suggest u to put only that skill set in which u r perfect.....Don't
try to make ur skill set large enough just for the sake of resume..
After the Tech Interview, I received a compliment that i was good at computer knowledge.
Then the HR...It was at about 9:00 pm..It was asked only four q's...Tell me abt urself,What r ur strengths? ....Have u been in any association? DO u have any backlogs???....That's it....
