AirNet Company Profile
AirNet designs, manufactures, and markets wireless infrastructure products, including the AdaptaCell® broadband, software-defined base station, the AirSite® Backhaul Free Base Station, and the recently introduced RapidCell™. The AirNet® family of base stations having been deployed for over 7 years, is also highly reliable having achieved compliance with Telcordia standards of 99.99% for field reliability. AirNet's AirSite Backhaul Free base station technology eliminates the need for expensive T-1/E1 lines and microwave by backhauling traffic on unused wireless spectrum enabled by AirNet's broadband architecture. This is a significant benefit to operators especially in non-urban areas where T-1/E1 and microwave costs are particularly high. In addition, the AirSite base station's low cost, small size and low power consumption allow operators to flexibly and quickly upgrade their systems as usage increases or to fill holes in their coverage as well as ease community concerns about the aesthetics of large base stations. The RapidCell base station, provides 96 channels of Type 1-4 secure communications, all in a single compact and ruggedized container. AirNet infrastructure provides maximum coverage at minimum cost while preserving the flexibility and software configurability. AirNet's base station products simultaneously support multiple protocols, can upgrade to high-speed data services as subscribers demand wireless Internet access, and is the only GSM base station capable of utilizing adaptive array technology. The AirNet SuperCapacity base station uses adaptive array technology to dramatically improve capacity, call quality, and high-speed data performance while reducing the number of cell sites required by up to a factor of 6x.
AirNet's patented, software-defined radio technology and intellectual property forms the basis for a full range of compact, rapidly-deployed base stations. AirNet's product architecture is readily adaptable to WiMAX 802.16 (d)(e) Standards. No other manufacturer of cellular base stations has a product architecture adaptable for WiMAX mobility applications. Having been a pioneer in Broadband SDR OFDM technology, AirNet's engineering team has over 10 years of experience dedicated to the advancement and deployment of our product architecture. In fact, about 20 out of the 70 patents cover key intellectual property in wideband OFDM/FFT, which may be critical in the development of such broadband wireless systems.
AirNet is a member of the Software Defined Radio Forum, and has recently joined the WiMAX forum as a principal member and will participate with hundreds of other companies in promoting WiMAX.
AirNet has won two coveted awards from the GSM Association, representing over 400 operators around the world. In February 2006, AirNet received the award for "Best Radio Access Product" and in February 1998, they received the "Best Technical Innovation" award.
AirNet is certified as an ISO 9001:2000 company.
